PINK POPCORN - Tired Mama Co.

PINK POPCORN

For as long as I can remember my mom has never been a huge sweets person. She constantly tells us stories of how when she was younger, she and her 7 siblings would split a small bag of m&ms and it was the biggest treat. But I do remember her loving the pink popcorn you could get at the fair. We could never leave the fair until she had gotten her favorite pink popcorn! By the way, we still go to the fair today and I think it’s the biggest treat. It’s by far one of my favorite things in the world and that pink popcorn is still a necessity every time we go!

While my pink popcorn recipe isn’t the kind you get a the fair, it sure is a tasty snack! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty and it’s hard to stop yourself from eating the whole batch. This white chocolate popcorn is great for parties or just a late night movie date. It is delicious and adorable! What more could you ask for? Here is the super simple recipe for you guys!

Pink Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup pop corn kernels
4 oz white chocolate baking bar
6 oz white chocolate chips
1 drop pink food coloring

Directions:

-Add 1/4 cup of coconut oil to a pot. Cover and let heat up on medium heat for two minutes.

-Add the popcorn kernels. Cover and take the pot off of the heat for 30 seconds.

-Put the pot back on the heat. Cook, shaking the pot occasionally until the popping slows down. After about 2 minutes, and the popping has slowed down, take the lid off of the pot. This lets the steam out and keeps the popcorn crisp.

-Place popcorn in a baking sheet and lay flat to cool.

-In another pot melt the chocolate. When the chocolate is melted add a drop of food coloring and mix through. Pour chocolate over the popcorn and with your clean hands mix chocolate through or a spoon if ya ain’t into getting your hands dirty.

-Set aside until chocolate sets and serve.
